Overview: Training for operators using truck-mounted boom/static pump equipment with focus on set-up, outriggers, pressure hazards, hose whip prevention, communication and shutdown/cleaning controls. Training/assessment delivery is aligned with TVTC approval and SASO HERC requirements where the course falls within the approved scope.

Who Should Attend: Concrete pump operators, placing crew, site supervisors, maintenance personnel and construction teams involved in pumping operations.

Prerequisites: Employer authorization, medical fitness, PPE, site induction, awareness of concrete pumping hazards and access to suitable pump equipment for practical assessment.

Learning Outcomes:

• Check equipment condition, outriggers, hoses, boom sections and emergency devices.
• Understand safe set-up, ground bearing and boom movement controls.
• Manage hose whip, pressure, blockage and concrete delivery hazards.
• Coordinate with site teams and follow shutdown, cleaning and emergency procedures.

Practical Assessment:

• Pre-use inspection of pump, boom, hoses, outriggers and emergency stops.
• Demonstrate safe set-up, exclusion-zone control and communication with placing crew.
• Show shutdown, washout, blockage response awareness and parking/isolation.

Limitations: Does not replace equipment inspection, pump maintenance, concrete delivery controls, site permit, ground-bearing verification or employer authorization.
