Rigging and Lifting Training Services

Tove Leeds delivers accredited Rigging and Lifting Safety Training for riggers, crane operators, lifting supervisors, and banksmen across industrial and construction environments. As a TVTC-registered Training Centre, we provide competency-based programs aligned with LEEA, OPITO, and Saudi regulatory standards across Saudi Arabia, UAE, and GCC markets. Our courses cover rigging fundamentals, load calculation, slinging techniques, and lifting plan execution enabling certified workforce development across oil & gas, construction, and manufacturing sectors.

Overview: Advanced rigging training for experienced personnel supporting complex lifts, rigging team leadership, lift plan implementation and higher-risk lifting controls. Training/assessment delivery is aligned with TVTC approval and SASO HERC requirements where the course falls within the approved scope.

Who Should Attend: Senior riggers, lead hands, lifting supervisors, experienced lifting team members and personnel nominated for advanced rigging responsibilities.

Prerequisites: Candidate should have previous rigging competence/experience, employer authorization, medical fitness, knowledge of routine lifting operations and ability to understand lift plans, permits and method statements.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Assess complex load handling requirements, rigging arrangements and lifting hazards.
  • Support lift plan implementation, risk controls and method statement requirements.
  • Lead rigging teams, communication control and exclusion-zone arrangements.
  • Recognize critical lift factors requiring appointed person, engineering or management review.

Practical Assessment:

  • Review a sample lift plan/method statement and identify key controls.
  • Demonstrate supervision of rigging team communication and load control.
  • Assess lifting accessories and rigging configuration for a selected load scenario.

Limitations: Does not replace engineering approval, statutory inspection, appointed person responsibilities, or client-specific lift permit requirements.

How to Book This Course: Contact Tove Leeds to arrange rigger level 1 training for your lifting team or site personnel.

Overview: Intermediate rigging training for personnel involved in routine lifting operations, sling selection support, load control and coordination with crane operators and signal persons. Training/assessment delivery is aligned with TVTC approval and SASO HERC requirements where the course falls within the approved scope.

Who Should Attend: Riggers, lifting crew members, supervisors, maintenance personnel and employees supporting regular lifting operations.

Prerequisites: Prior basic rigging knowledge or site experience is recommended. Candidate should be medically fit, trained in site safety rules, and provided with required PPE and access to suitable lifting accessories for practical assessment.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Select suitable rigging methods for routine lifts considering load weight, shape and centre of gravity.
  • Explain sling angle effects, tension, working load limit and basic load stability.
  • Inspect common lifting accessories and identify defects requiring removal from service.
  • Coordinate lifting activities with banksmen, operators and lifting supervisors.

Practical Assessment:

  • Inspect web sling, chain sling, wire rope sling, hook and shackle conditions.
  • Demonstrate suitable load attachment and communication during a routine lift.
  • Identify unsafe rigging arrangements and apply stop-work action.

Limitations: Does not authorize critical lift engineering, complex lift plan approval, or use of unverified lifting accessories.

How to Book This Course: Contact Tove Leeds to arrange rigger level 2 training for your lifting team or site personnel.

Overview: Entry-level rigging training for personnel assisting basic lifting operations under competent supervision. The course introduces lifting hazards, basic accessories, safe communication and site controls. Training/assessment delivery is aligned with TVTC approval and SASO HERC requirements where the course falls within the approved scope.

Who Should Attend: Helpers, junior riggers, lifting assistants, general site personnel and new employees supporting lifting activities.

Prerequisites: Minimum site authorization, basic physical fitness for lifting-site work, ability to understand training instructions, PPE as required by the site, and employer confirmation that the candidate is suitable for rigging duties.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify basic lifting hazards, suspended-load risks and exclusion-zone requirements.
  • Recognize common lifting accessories and carry out basic visual pre-use checks.
  • Apply safe positioning, hand signals and stop-work communication.
  • Support simple lifting activities under supervision and within approved lift arrangements.

Practical Assessment:

  • Demonstrate basic pre-use visual checks for slings, shackles and hooks.
  • Show correct hand signals or radio communication for lifting movements.
  • Confirm safe approach, exclusion-zone awareness and load landing control.

Limitations: Does not authorize independent complex lift planning, selection of lifting gear for critical lifts, overloaded lifting, or work outside employer/site authorization.

How to Book This Course: Contact Tove Leeds to arrange rigger level 1 training for your lifting team or site personnel.

Overview: Focused training for safe load attachment, banking, signalling and lifting area control during crane and lifting equipment operations. Training/assessment delivery is aligned with TVTC approval and SASO HERC requirements where the course falls within the approved scope.

Who Should Attend: Banksmen, signalmen, slingers, riggers, lifting assistants, supervisors and employees assigned to lifting communication duties.

Prerequisites: Candidate should be able to communicate clearly, understand site signals/radio protocol, wear required PPE and be authorized by the employer for lifting-area support duties.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Use standard hand signals and radio communication effectively.
  • Guide crane and load movements while maintaining safe position.
  • Control blind spots, line-of-fire exposure and exclusion zones.
  • Confirm load stability and safe landing before releasing lifting accessories.

Practical Assessment:

  • Demonstrate standard lifting signals and emergency stop signal.
  • Conduct a mock lifting communication sequence with operator/rigging team.
  • Show safe positioning and exclusion-zone management during load movement.

Limitations: Does not authorize crane operation, complex rigging design, or lifting without employer approval and site lifting plan.

How to Book This Course: Contact Tove Leeds to arrange slinger / banksman / signalman training for your operators, lifting team or site personnel.
